experience in the salon/spa industry.
As a lifetime learner I have educated myself throughout my career. In high
school I took the cosmetology course and received my license after
graduation. I began my career as a hair stylist then expanded my education to
include energy healing which opened the door for me to pursue skin care.
Then I began to study aromatherapy and body treatments of all kinds. Finally
after many years of knowing I would do massage therapy, I went to school and
received my massage therapy license. After that I knew it was time to go out
on my own. I had all the skills that I needed, so I did. That is how I got here.
And I can honestly say I’ve never looked back.
I have been a student, teacher and mentor throughout my career. I am also a
daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. I bring
all of these relationship experiences into my practice.
In my aesthetic career I have traveled across the country learning and
educating myself with Dr. Murad and the Murad team, Sylvia Hennessee,
founder of Pevonia Skin Care, and Repechage. I traveled to trade shows,
took intensive training in aromatherapy, body treatments and am certified in
microdermabrasion, micro-current, light therapy and skin peels. I am a self
taught master of eyebrow art and have mastered facial massage.
In the early ‘80s I studied energy healing modalities including Reiki,
Reconnective healing and other forms of energy healing. I attended
metaphysical training as a lightworker/healer receiving a minister’s license on
completion. I have also studied Medical Intuition and Mediumship.
I studied Swedish and deep tissue massage and became a massage therapist
six years ago. I am certified in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, neuro-muscular
trigger point therapy, hot stone massage, Shiradaro/ancient Ayurvedic
treatment, aromatherapy, raindrop therapy, therapeutic yoga style stretching
and zero pointe energy.
When asked to describe my work my response is always that it is an eclectic
mix of all my experiences. I cannot qualify my work and put it into a specific
box. Each session caters to the client’s needs.
My work in massage is deep therapeutic and restorative. My aesthetic work is
relaxing, revitalizing and restorative. My intention is always balancing the
energy in the physical, emotional and spiritual sense. In merging the body
mind and spirit we become whole again.
One of my greatest passions is my relationship with clients, aiding each
individual on their personal journey into healing, whether that is through
specific healing modalities, massage, facials or even during waxing
appointments.
I am a vehicle of light and I consciously draw only good light to me and
through me. I am in service and always am working to the highest good,
keeping mindful of my intentions always and being in gratitude for the gifts I
have been given.
I’m going to begin training an apprentice to work directly with me and my client
base. In giving back some of the gifts I’ve received I am looking forward to
seeing a transformation in someone’s career through my own eyes.
I am forever grateful to all my clients past, present and future, you who inspire
me to keep raising the bar for myself and ultimately for you. I wish to honor
that always.
I am currently pursuing a new/old dream of writing and expanding myself into
teaching, writing motivational and public speaking. Some of that scares me a
little – well only the public speaking part. However as with so many things in
my life it’s a calling and now is the time to answer the call.
I am embracing fully, maybe for the first time my wholeness as a teacher,
writer and healer – although I have a hard time with the word “healer.”
However, it is what best describes my work and my life – although I always
respect that it is not my energy I am just the vehicle.

3 years. She performs manicures on
natural nails and is committed to the

subject in school was always art and
she brings that artistic flair to her work

art. Vanessa brings a sense of pride
